How Our License Works

Wamotype fonts are licensed based on how the font will be used. If your project uses the font in multiple ways, select all license types that apply. Your selected license details are saved with your order.

License Types

Each license covers a specific kind of usage. Expand each section to see what is permitted and prohibited.

Permitted

  • Install and use the font on licensed workstations.
  • Create static graphics, layouts, documents, and presentations.
  • Create print materials such as flyers, books, posters, packaging, and stationery.
  • Create personal, student, internal, or commercial design work as flattened or outlined output.
  • Prepare logo concepts or drafts before final logo usage is licensed separately.

Prohibited

  • Embedding the font in websites, apps, software, games, or platforms.
  • Final logo, trademark, or brand mark usage without a Logo License.
  • Paid digital advertising without a Digital Ads License.
  • Commercial merchandise or editable template products without a Merchandise & Templates License.
  • Sharing, uploading, or redistributing the font files.

Permitted

  • Embed the font on websites using webfont formats such as WOFF or WOFF2.
  • Use the font for live website text, headings, landing pages, and online brand pages.
  • Use the font on public websites, microsites, and internal web pages.
  • Serve the font through standard @font-face implementation.

Prohibited

  • Installing the font on desktop workstations without a Desktop License.
  • Embedding the font in apps, games, SaaS products, or software.
  • Using the font in digital advertising campaigns without a Digital Ads License.
  • Using the font in broadcast, film, streaming, or video distribution without the correct license.
  • Allowing visitors or end users to download, extract, or access the font files directly.

Permitted

  • Use the font in paid digital ads, display banners, and campaign graphics.
  • Use the font in HTML5 banners and paid social advertising creatives.
  • Use the font in online promotional assets for commercial campaigns.
  • Use the font in static or motion ad creatives distributed through digital ad networks.

Prohibited

  • Organic social media publishing without a Social Media License.
  • Website embedding without a Web Font License.
  • App, software, or platform embedding without an App & Platform License.
  • Broadcast, TV, film, or cinema usage without a Broadcast & Film License.
  • Redistributing the font files inside ad templates or source packages.

Permitted

  • Use the font in organic Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, and similar social posts.
  • Use the font in YouTube thumbnails, channel graphics, and organic video visuals.
  • Use the font in branded social media graphics and creator or influencer content.
  • Use the font in static or rendered social media assets where the font file is not shared.

Prohibited

  • Paid social advertising without a Digital Ads License.
  • Website or app embedding without the proper license.
  • Broadcast, TV, streaming, or cinema usage without a Broadcast & Film License.
  • Providing editable source files that include or expose the font software.
  • Using the font as the final logo or trademark identity without a Logo License.

Permitted

  • Use the font in physical products such as t-shirts, mugs, stickers, posters, packaging, and apparel.
  • Use the font in print-on-demand products and commercial merchandise.
  • Use the font in digital products where the text is flattened, outlined, rasterized, or otherwise non-editable.
  • Use the font in templates, printables, and design products only when the font file cannot be extracted.
  • Use the font in NFTs or digital artwork as static or non-editable artwork.

Prohibited

  • Embedding, bundling, or distributing the font software inside templates or source files.
  • Selling editable templates that require customers to access or install the font file.
  • Allowing buyers to extract, download, or reuse the font file.
  • Using the font as a logo or trademark without a Logo License.
  • Reselling the font as part of another font bundle, design asset pack, or file collection.

Permitted

  • Embed the font in iOS, Android, desktop apps, games, or software products.
  • Use the font inside SaaS platforms, web applications, and digital tools.
  • Use the font for server-side automation, PDF generation, templating, or rendering workflows.
  • Use the font in print-on-demand systems where the font operates inside a controlled platform.
  • Use the font in product interfaces where the font file is not exposed to end users.

Prohibited

  • Website @font-face embedding without a Web Font License.
  • Paid digital advertising without a Digital Ads License.
  • Broadcast, film, TV, or streaming usage without a Broadcast & Film License.
  • Allowing users to download, extract, install, or redistribute the font software.
  • Using the font in an open font library, public editor, or template system that exposes the font file.

Permitted

  • Use the font in film titles, documentaries, video titles, motion graphics, and credits.
  • Use the font in TV programming, streaming content, online series, and cinema releases.
  • Use the font in festival screenings, regional productions, national distribution, or worldwide releases.
  • Use the font in rendered video where the font file is not distributed.

Prohibited

  • Merchandise or product sales without a Merchandise & Templates License.
  • App, game, or software embedding without an App & Platform License.
  • Website embedding without a Web Font License.
  • Political campaign usage without a custom written license.
  • Distributing production source files that include the font software.

General Prohibited Uses

  • Resell, share, upload, or redistribute the font files.
  • Include the font files in downloadable templates, source files, or asset packs.
  • Claim the original font software as your own work.
  • Convert the font and distribute it in another format.
  • Upload the font to public font libraries, marketplaces, repositories, or file-sharing platforms.
  • Use the font in a way that allows end users to extract, download, or access the font file.
  • Modify the font software for resale or redistribution.
  • Use the font outside the selected license scope without written permission.

Font Files & Download Access

After purchase, font files are available from your Wamotype account and order download page. Your selected license defines how you may use the font. The license does not change the downloadable font file unless stated otherwise.

The font file itself may not be shared, resold, uploaded, embedded, or distributed unless the selected license clearly allows that specific usage.

Custom / Enterprise License

For enterprise, unlimited, political campaign, OEM, large-scale platform, special brand ownership, or usage not covered by the standard license types, please contact us for a custom written license.
